Acute Care
The Acute Care department consists
of 36 in-patient beds, a nursery for
newborn care, and two monitor units where the patients' vital signs are
under constant surveillance.

This department is staffed by
Registered Nurses (RN's), Licensed
Vocational Nurses (LVN's), Nurses
Aids, and a Unit Secretary. The
hospital's full range of services, from
diagnostic testing to visiting specialists,
are available to acute care patients.

The monitor units look out onto the
atrium that is located centrally to the
in-patient rooms.

24-Hour Emergency Care
A new Emergency Department was
completed May 1999. It is a Level
IV Trauma Facility that is open 24
hours a day. The department houses
seven treatment beds including a
cardiac bed and a trauma room. It
is staffed by RN's, LVN's and on-
call physicians.

The ER is augmented by diagnostic
testing departments, the ambulance
service and a helipad to assist in air
transfers.

tains two ambulance units and is
staffed by Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.

Fort Worth and Abilene.

Labor & Delivery

was renovated in conjunction with
the Emergency Room. It consists of
a birthing suite where mother and
family can experience the process
together from labor through recovery.
The department also houses
traditional labor and delivery rooms.

Patients are closely monitored and
progress is reported to the referring
physician.

public during non-Cardiac Rehab

suggest a fitness routine and record
vital signs. There is a negligible
